Once again, it’s the season for ghoulies and ghosties and long-leggedy beasties and things that go bump in the night!  It’s Halloween time again!

Don’t you just love Halloween? In countries around the world, the autumnal season is welcomed in many ways.  Some cultures celebrate Halloween as a fun holiday with costumes and candy.  Other cultures celebrate the season for its religious and/or spiritual significance.  I enjoy decorating my house not only to celebrate Halloween, but also to welcome the pre-Thanksgiving holiday spirit, dressing up, and of course diffusing my oils to welcome the change of the season!

There are many natural scents that are associated with Halloween and the fall holiday season.  Two of my favorite scents are clove and cinnamon. Other scents also linked with this season include cypress, vetiver and patchouli.

Here’s a favorite Halloween Blend that I want to share with you.  I love using this blend to warm my home and welcome my guests:

2 drops of Cinnamon essential oil
3 drops of Nutmeg essential oil
5 drops of Mandarin Orange essential oil

Blend the above oils in a vial, add 4 drops (plus minus depending on your taste) to 8 ounces of water in a mister bottle.  Spray this in the bathroom and kitchen, or spritz it on some pine cones and leave them on the hearth for a warm fall scent, or diffuse this warm and inviting scent in the family or living room.

This blend is perfect for a diffuser, but if you don’t have a diffuser, just mix up the blend in a vial, shake well, and then place one drop of the blend on a cotton ball or sachet.
