Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)

Essential oils are a very effective way to treat the symptoms of PMS.  For relief, begin using the following PMS blend in your bath or during a massage approximately 8 to 10 days before the anticipated onset of your cycle.

PMS Blend

12 drops Mandarin essential oil

10 drops Lavender essential oil

3 drops Geranium essential oil

1 drop Rose essential oil

Combine Mandarin, Lavender, Geranium and Rose essential oils in a dark glass bottle, shake well to blend. Be sure and store your oil in a dark place away from sunlight.

How To Use

Bath – Fill the tub with comfortably warm water.  In a small non-reactive bowl, combine 1 tsp of milk with 4 to 6 drops of the above blend.  Add the mixture to the tub and agitate the water to disperse the oil.  Soak for 30 minutes.  Massage any floating oil droplets onto your skin.

Massage – Combine 4 teaspoons of grape seed or sweet almond oil with 8 drops of the above blend in a small non-reactive bowl.  Mix well and massage on your body.

Water Retention Blend

Start using this blend on the 21st day of your cycle, counting from the first day of your last period.  This blend may help to rid the body of excess fluid and reduce the bloated feeling.  Use as above for bath and massage.

15 drops Fennel essential oil

10 drops Juniper Berry essential oil

8 drops Grapefruit essential oil

Combine Fennel, Juniper Berry and Grapefruit essential oils in a dark glass container, shake well to blend. Be sure and store your oil in a dark place away from sunlight.
