General Skin Conditions
A large number of skin conditions are preventable. Dry skin for example, may be avoided by hydration and using body care products that do not strip your skin’s natural oils. However, sometimes things happen, and it’s good to know how to deal with skin issues when they arise.
The best general-purpose essential oils to have on hand for skin conditions are Frankincense, Lavender, Peppermint, Tea Tree, and Sandalwood, followed by Cypress, Geranium, Marjoram, Myrrh, Orange, Rosemary, Ylang Ylang, Grapefruit, Oregano and Clove.
Oregano is most effective for treating callouses.
Myrrh is an excellent essential oil to use for chapped and cracked skin.
Corns are most often a result of wearing improperly fitted shoes. Corns may best be treated with Clove, Peppermint and Grapefruit essential oils.
Myrrh and Sandalwood essential oils blended with coconut oil are good to use on the face.
